Y.E. Yang Wins the PGA Championship – The First Asian Golfer To Win a Major

By admin on August 16, 2009
Golf Instructions Blog

An amazing result for Y E Yang at the PGA Championship. This result will be talked about for sometime in the world of golf.

After the fourth hole Yang tied Woods and once again on the 8th after Tiger bogeyed the hole.

Y E started to take the game to Tiger on the back nine, then on the 11th Woods pulled ahead once again with a birdie, however, Woods gave the stroke right back on the next hole.

The turning point came on the 14th hole, where Yang’s tee shot ended up just short of the green then he pulled of the shot of the day with a chip in for an eagle to go up one-stroke on Woods.

After the 17th Yang was still up by a stroke. On the 18th he sunk a birdie-putt after an amazing second shot into the green which gave him his final margin of victory.

This is Yangs second victory this season on the PGA Tour, and his first major.

After this victory he will be crowned the first Asian player ever to win a major. To read more about Y E Yang’s Victory click this link Y E Yang

General Motors has sponsored the Buick Open since its founding in 1958.

This is the 51st Buick Open Golf Championship.

This is year it is been held at the Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club in Grand Blanc, Michigan.

There have been some reports which suggest that Buick may withdraw sponsorship from the 2010 Buick Invitational?

These reports supposedly state that General Motors would be re-directing its marketing budget to new product advertising instead.

Pete Ternes, who is a G.M. spokesman, stated that there have been no changes made to date….

Learn the Correct Golf Swing For Better Golf Shots

By admin on July 25, 2009
Golf Instructions Blog

The golf swing is hundreds of years old, and is the result of the experience and knowledge of thousands of very qualified people. Some golfers are forced to develop their own golf swing due to a physical limitation.

The golf swing of touring professional Kenny Perry is unorthodox because he has adjusted to compensate for an injury. Then there are natural talents like Arnold Palmer who developed his own style of golf swing based mostly on his personality.

But in order to insure receiving the results you are looking for when you are playing golf, it is extremely important to master the fundamentals of the golf swing.

Did You Know That Some Simple Changes in Your Swing Can Prevent Your Slice

By admin on July 23, 2009
Golf Instructions Blog Golf Swing Training

A slice is usually not the result of a defective ball or a bad golf club; it is the result of a bad swing that was used to strike the golf club.

The slice suddenly appears for what seems like no reason because a golfer is doing something subtly different in their stance, or they are changing the way they swing the club in some small way. Remember that it does not take much to create a slice, and it does not take much to fix it either.

Make sure your feet are lined up with your target in a straight line parallel with your shoulders. If your front foot is slightly in front of your back foot, then you will more than likely get a slice. Position your feet properly, and you stand an excellent chance of eliminating your slice.

On this video Nick goes through setting up for the power position.

When getting on the tee box you want to get yourself in position to crush the ball down the fairway.

I have to admit it is a wonderful feeling when you see your ball take off straight and land exactly where you aimed it.

It also makes the game a lot easier when you are taking your second shot off the fairway as opposed to in the rough, bunkers or behind tree’s.

That in effect is the “why” of getting yourself set up correctly. When you do this, not only will you get distance but your drives will also be accurate.
